Well, Cassie made her arrival and we had many things planned for the week. We were able to go and visit Mel and kids at Edisto Island. The visit was short but the kids had so much fun together.
We took a boat ride out to shell island. That day proved to be quite an adventure. Britt and Will were having a really hard time anchoring the boat. The water was really choppy that day, so anytime they got to close into the shore, the boat would start to beach itself. It was very stressful! I think despite the stress though, it was a really great experience.
One of the things that was the most fun this week was learning how to go crabbing. We would go to the rocky side of the beach and wait for the tide to go out. We took our big crabbing nets and would catch some pretty large blue crabs. I think we caught around 25 crabs. None of us really had any clue of how to cook them, clean them, or eat them. Google and Youtube became our friend and by the end of the night the kids knew how to disect the entire crab and knew what parts were edible. We basically got very little meat out of the crabs, but it was all about the experience.
